The People’s Choice Awards is an award show that is held in the United States to celebrate many different aspects of popular culture, all of which are voted for by the public. The first People’s Choice Awards ceremony was in 1975, a year in which film icons John Wayne and Barbara Streisand received recognition for their work throughout the year.

The People’s Choice Awards also spawned many other awards, including the People’s Choice Podcast Awards and the Teen Choice Awards, and although it has been involved in some controversy over the years, it is generally a very well respected award show that attracts a large audience every year.
