The player – who’s name and location remain a mystery – is a member of the Malta-based Tipico Casino. He was playing the mobile jackpot slot on his smartphone when the game’s special wheel feature triggered, spinning majestically into the final, center position to release the grandiose prize.

Making the win even more memorable – both for the player, the casino, the game’s creator, and the esteemed documenters of world records – is the fact that this marks the largest mobile jackpot slot win in history.

Ironically, the record was previously held by the exact same machine, honoring Microgaming’s Mega Moolah jackpot release of €7,968,311.26 in August 2016.
