1×2 may have more than 15 years’ experience behind them, but Iron Dog does not. The company appears to have launched its first game in 2016, since producing a miniature portfolio of 16 titles. Three of them are 3D table games f baccarat, blackjack and roulette. The other thirteen are online slot machines. According to the website, two virtual scratch cards will be coming soon.

It certainly appears that Iron Dog is trying to make a name for itself. This latest creation has a most curious theme to it. However, I’m still a bit put off by the fact that the website, IronDogStudio.com, lacks https:// security protocol. Also, Iron Dog claims to be a provider of games for Microgaming‘s Quickfire platform, yet neither Microgaming, nor Quickfire, make any mention of it; nor do any of the games appear in the Quickfire games list. For me, this is a big red flag. Iron Dog may be a company to keep an eye, but that’s about it for now…

An enchanting butterfly tree, a human heart riddled with straight pins, eerie green potion, bejeweled skull. These are some of the standard symbols in The Curious Cabinet Slot. The rose is wild in the base game, transforming to a stackable venus fly trap wild during free spins. The doll and monster are both scatters.

The doll has to be the creepiest symbol of all. She seems perfectly innocent when she appears in a single or double position. But when 4 or more positions contain a doll, each can spread to cover a 1×3 position before delivering scatter pays. When she does expand, her eyes glow and her mouth opens to reveal sharp, hungry teeth. The monster scatter is similar, but when 4 or more of this one appear, each occurrence can spread to cover a square, 2×2 position before scatter pays are awarded.

The last special symbols are Silver Drawers and Gold Drawers. Silver drawers can appear on reel 2 and 4 in the base game. When one appears, it will open to reveal a guaranteed-win sticky-wild respin, a prize of up to 80 coins, or nothing at all. When two appear in the same spin, it triggers 8 Free Spins, where each drawer can contain additional prizes, including a 2x multiplier.

I’ve only played the game in free demo mode for now, due to the trust and assurance issues (mentioned above) that need to be addressed.
