Evolution Gaming proves live casino games are still hot.

Latest Award for Evolution Gaming proves Live Casino Games are still HotLive dealer casino games have been around since 2003. It took some years for technology to catch up to their capabilities, delivering a high-quality product players could appreciate, but if there’s any one company that can take credit for it, it’s Evolution Gaming. Once they came along, live casinos became all the rage. That was more than 10 years ago.

Have digital gamers finally burned out on the live dealer realm? Apparently not. In fact, Evolution Gaming‘s performance over the last 12 months proves that the live gaming vertical is hot as ever. At least, that’s the perception we got last week when Evolution won yet another prestigious trophy at the Global Gaming Awards.

Evolution Named 2019 Best Online Casino Supplier

Founded in 2006, Evolution Gaming quickly became known for two things; having the top live casino product in the world, and the most impressive trophy case to back it up. This year’s Global Gaming Awards ceremony, held at the Hippodrome Casino in London on February 4, has taught us something new about Evolution and the industry as a whole. Live online casinos are now the ‘norm’.

Taking home the Online Casino Supplier of the Year award is a tremendous accomplishment for the group. For more than two decade, the term ‘online casino‘ was a general classification for RNG-based games. When referring to live video broadcasts of real dealer tables, the term ‘live casino‘ was applied.

The fact that Evolution—the leading live casino supplier for the last decade—with a trophy case to prove it—took home the award for the best 2019 ‘Online Casino Supplier‘ speaks volumes.

Latest Award Proves Live Casino Games are Still Hot

Evolution Gaming - Global Gaming Awards 2019 Best Online Casino SupplierNot only does it point to exponential growth in the popularity of live dealer games, it gives credit to the company for its expansion into the RNG-based gaming market. As of last year, Evolution now offers a small assortment of RNG-based casino games, but nowhere near enough to be worthy of a ‘online casino’ award, by the traditional meaning of the term.

It’s worth noting that Evolution’s 3-day foray at ICE Totally Gaming, which kicked off at the Excel in London the very next morning, saw the company launch 10 new gaming titles, including 8 new live casino games and 2 new RNG-based titles, which they refer to as ‘First Person‘ games; First Person Dream Catcher and First Person Lightning Roulette.

Proud Moment for Evolution Gaming

Martin Carlesund, CEO of Evolution Gaming, was beyond pleased to comment on the company’s reception of yet another benchmark award. “We are thrilled to have won this award,” he said. “The past twelve months have seen some landmark product launches from Evolution, with the runaway success of Lightning Roulette, the launch of our First Person range of games, plus three new studios opening worldwide.”

Carlesund was especially proud to accept such a prestigious award on the eve of ICE, precluding the company’s exciting revelation of 10 new gaming titles. “We are continually pushing to enrich our offering and provide our operators and their players the next generation of Live Casino games,” he concluded.

Narrowing the search for a good online casino by software provider.

Narrowing the Search for a Good Online Casino by Software ProvidersWhether you’re new to the online casino gaming community or not, searching for new online casinos worthy of your deposit can be a long and tedious process. There are many, many aspects to be considered. Things like longevity, integrity, licensing and regulation, regional player acceptance, baking options, game variety, bonuses and promotions; the list goes on and on.

One of the most important factors you’ll want to consider is the online casino software provider(s) that powers the games. If you can choose which software you’d like access to, you can filter the results to a narrow margin, greatly speeding up the overall process.

Narrow the Search for a Good Online Casino by Software

There are dozens of software companies that provide solid gaming platforms for online casinos. Some have an immense game variety, while others offer smaller portfolios. The larger ones, like Microgaming, often supply their software exclusively. Smaller ones tend to be employed by online casinos that utilize a bulk of software, making up a larger studio of games from different providers.

The one you choose should be based on your preference of games, as well as your desire to either download the software, or play instantly in your browser. If you’re the type to download the platform, granting full access to all games with the fastest speeds and highest graphic quality, a larger, exclusive software is the way to go.

Top Online Casino Software Providers

Some of the oldest and most reputable brands in the business include Microgaming, NetEnt, and Playtech.

Microgaming: This company has the largest portfolio of games, with hundreds of online slots—classics, video slots, bonus slots, progressives, etc.—plus dozens of tables games, video poker games, instant wins, specialties and more. There are well over 800 to choose from in the download client, and about 500 in the instant-play platform. No less than two new games are released monthly.

NetEnt: Formerly Net Entertainment, NetEnt is another long-time developer of games with an immense portfolio of slots, table games, and more. Their production rate is lower, but the selection of 3D slots is phenomenal.

Playtech: Much like NetEnt, Playtech’s game variety is quite large, numbering in the high hundreds. They offer a fantastic selection of all game types. However, Playtech provides software for so many types of gaming operators—casino, poker, bingo, sports, etc.—that they’re a bit behind the times with new content.

Best Live Casino Software Providers

Another aspect you’ll want to consider is live casino accessibility. The number of live studio providers is much lower than RNG-based gaming software companies. Live casino games are played from a real casino studio—in some cases, a real land-based casino. Players participate on their desktop or mobile via live streams of the action, where real professional dealers administer the games; just like in a bricks-and-mortar casino.

In this category, there’s only one software provider that’s really worth looking for. Evolution Gaming has worked exclusively in the live casino sector since 2006, and has been the number-one provider in this arena from the start. They’ve won the EGR Casino Supplier of the Year Award 9 years straight; ever since the inaugural EGR Operator Awards were held.

If you’re looking for a good online casino with both RNG-based and live casino games, Microgaming or NetEnt casinos that also employ the Evolution brand are your best bet. Playtech provides its own live casino, and while it’s of decent quality, it doesn’t compare to Evolution’s supremacy in this area. Online casinos like Royal Vegas offer a two-point combination of Microgaming and Evolution Gaming for the best overall experience, with or without a download.

Are live casino games rigged? How do I know for sure?

Are Live Casino Games RiggedThe question of online casinos being rigged has circulated for more than two decades. For the last fifteen years or so, it’s been proven that reputable gambling websites do not cheat their players. Software audits and certification bares evidence that computerized, RNG-based games are just as fair as those managed by professional dealers and croupiers.

But RNG-based games and live casino games are quite different. Just like the tables at bricks-and-mortar casinos, they are operated by real, professionally trained dealers. They use real cards and roulette wheels. Every bit of the action mimics that of a land-based casino, minus the physical presence of the players.

Unfortunately, humans are much more likely to err than computer software. Worse, it’s not always an accident. Just as dealers at land-based casinos have been caught cheating in the past, live dealers at online casinos have the same opportunity. So the question is…

Do Live Dealers Cheat at Online Casinos?

As much as I would like to give a flat, 100% ‘No!‘ to that question, I cannot. Live dealers have actually been caught cheating. In February of 2017, a live casino player caught it on video, and it went viral on YouTube within hours. You can see it for yourself here:
Online Live Blackjack Dealer Caught Cheating

It was a sad day when this video released, rocking the live casino industry to its core. The gambling website, BetOnline, was caught up in massive a scandal, because one of the dealers of its chosen live casino provider, Global Gaming Labs (GGL), was caught cheating. For the record, BetOnline immediately dropped GGL from its providers, and GGL subsequently went out of business.

On the bright side, this tragic incident renewed the efforts of upright studios to prove their worthiness to the iGaming masses. Which brings us to…

Are Live Casino Games Rigged, and How do I Know?

The largest live casino studio producers absolutely do not rig their table games. Their dealer’s are professionally trained to play a legitimate game. After all, casinos already have a house edge—they don’t need to cheat to make money.

To prove their upright stature, casinos willingly undergo regular audits to certify their fairness. The results of their live games are monitored and calculated to determine if the actual RTP (return to player) meets the expected RTP. Slight deviations are permitted for proper and lax player decisions, but overall, when the RTPs line up, it’s clear that the live games are kosher.

To know you’re getting a fair deal, all you have to do is play live casino games from studios with a solid reputation. These include companies like Evolution Gaming, Microgaming, NetEnt and PlayTech. They take immense pride in their products, and are subject to the regulation of the strictest gaming authorities in the world.

Suffice to say, if caught cheating, these companies would suffer tremendous penalties, the least of which would be including compensation of victimized players. And as the video above clearly shows, thanks to today’s modern technology and the vigilance of players, cheating is easy to uncover.

There are countless online gamblers who record and/or live stream their game play on video services like YouTube and Twitch. Many of them have thousands of viewers who watch. If any form of cheating were to occur, you can rest assured the player, or one of their many viewers, would catch it. And like the cheating scandal of GGL, it would go viral within hours.

So in answer to the question—Are live casino games rigged?—the dominant answer is no. It is possible, but any smart player can avoid being cheated by choosing their gambling websites wisely. For Canadians like myself, a good rule of thumb here is to avoid online casinos that accept US players.

Evolution snags another award for Best Live Streaming Casino.

The live dealer casino industry is more than a decade old, but it’s been thriving in more recent years. Advancements in technology have elevated player interest, and the market is responding with more studios, better quality equipment, and more operators distributing their services.

In the earlier days, Evolution Gaming was the stand-alone leader in live casino streaming. No wonder really… It was the only company taking a live-centric approach, dealing in no other form of digital entertainment. Year after year, award after award proved their superior status. Now, as the industry grows and competition abounds, it’s become crystal clear that Evolution remains the crème de la crème.

Evolution named Best Live Streaming Casino

Evolution wins Best In-Casino Streaming Live Casino Provider at Live Gaming Summit 2018Evolution Gaming may soon need to add a few more shelves to its trophy case. The Latvia-based live dealer group was one of the foremost attendants of the Live Gaming Summit at Casino Barcelona in Spain last week. And as usual, it was a heavy favorite to take home honors at the LGS Awards ceremony.

There were six gaming studios up for the Best In-Casino Streaming Live Dealer Provider award. That category covers brands that stream live casino games directly from a land-based casino, rather than a mock studio. Voting took place on the LGS website, where players, operators and other industry aficionados chose Evolution as the superior performer for its Dual-Play systems.

Dual-Play is a unique platform that allows Evolution to stream live roulette and baccarat games directly from land-based casinos. In this way, the casinos can entertain physical patrons at the tables, as well as taking bets from online players around the world, and even mobile players from elsewhere within the same casino; their hotel room, lounge bar, poolside, etc.

Evolution’s Dual-Play live casino systems are employed by a multitude of major land-based casino operators. An impressive list of clients include The Hippodrome and The Ritz in London, Grosvenor Casino Victoria, Resorts World, Genting International and others.

Momentum Boost for Dual-Play Streaming Live Casino

Evolution Gaming’s Director of Land-Based Operations, James Stern, shared his excitement over the company’s latest award and the fast-developing future of their Dual-Play live casino software.

Evolution wins another best live streaming casino award“We are extremely proud of our Dual Play solution and of this award win,” said Stern. “2018 is off to a great start with two further Dual Play launches already, including our first Dual Play Baccarat. Further exciting Dual Play developments are in the pipeline for later this year, and this award will give us even further momentum.”

He went on to praise Evolution’s development team for creating a revolutionary product that continues to evolve with each passing year. “Since its launch in 2015, Evolution Dual Play has established itself as the convergence solution of choice for the world’s premier land-based casinos. Dual Play is enabling those casinos to bridge the gap between on-premise and online play and helping them to deliver a better service and a more seamless service to existing players.”

Also worth mentioning, LeoVegas accepted an award at LGS last week, thanks to its choice of installing Evolution’s best live streaming casino technology. LeoVegas was named Best Branded Studio for its integration of bespoke live dealer tables, airing direct from Evolution’s studio in Riga, Latvia.

Why so many online casinos employ Evolution Live Casino games.

Evolution Live Casino GamesFor years, I’ve touted the superiority of Evolution Gaming as the #1 live casino supplier in the industry. It’s not just my opinion, but a proven fact. Evolution live dealer games have won the EGR Live Casino Supplier of the Year award for 8 years running; ever since the inaugural EGR Awards ceremony in 2010.

It’s not just the players who prefer these games though. More and more operators are choosing Evolution as their live casino games supplier because it presents them with more opportunities to capitalize on the global multi-billion dollar iGaming industry.

Why Operators Love Evolution Live Casino Games

First and foremost, operators choose Evolution because the players demand it. The software is second to none. The video and audio quality are superb. The games stream seamlessly, even on moderately equipped systems. The dealers are both professional and friendly. There’s absolutely nothing lacking from the player experience.

An operator’s choice goes well beyond that, though. Evolution also supplies unparalleled service in terms of regulatory compliance and certification. The company works with all respectably regulated markets to ensure that its clients have every opportunity to grow, including the chance to gain early market share in newly regulated, and re-regualted markets.

“We have an unrivalled track record in rapid rollout of Live Casino services in re-regulated markets,” says the live casino company. “In recent years we have been first to market in new jurisdictions such as Italy, Spain and Denmark. Evolution was also the first Live Casino provider to gain Preliminary Waiver Approval for New Jersey, USA.

“Across Europe and beyond we lead the way. In each jurisdiction we work collaboratively with customers and regulators to ensure that Evolution licensees can be ready to gain first- or early-to-market advantage with 100% compliant, localised solutions,” boasts Evolution.

Evolution Global Market Licences

Evolution Gaming holds licences in a number of major regulatory jurisdictions, including all of the most prominent ones that demand the strictest compliance standards. The company’s current licences include:

AGCC Licence – Category 2 Associate Certificate from the Alderney Gambling Control Commission

MGA Licence – Class 4 Gaming Licence from the Malta Gambling Authority

UKGC Licence – Combined Remote Operating Licence from the United Kingdom Gambling Commission

Belgium Licence – Vergunning Klasse E (Class E Licence) from the Kansspel Commissie (Belgium Gaming Commission)

Romania Licence – Class II Licence from the Romania National Gambling Office

Evolution Certification & Accreditation

Evolution is certified by a host of credible auditing firms. Certification is required in various markets to ensure that companies follow all letters of the law, in terms of software accuracy and fairness. The company’s current certifications include:

AAMS Certification – Amministrazione Autonoma Monopoli di Stato Certified in Italy.

SKAT Certification – Danish Tax Authority and Danish Gaming Authority (DGA) Certified in Denmark.

DGOJ Certification – Dirección General de Ordenación del Juego and Murcia Certified in Spain.

Last but not least, Evolution live casino games and software are ISO 27001:2013 accredited. ISO accreditation is reliant upon the current standards of the International Organization for Standardization, which last updated its policy in 2013. ISO 27001 accreditation relates to a ‘management system’ that delivers ‘information security’, and is awarded only after a company passes a rigorous software audit.

Canada online games host collects bevy of 2018 gambling industry awards.

Canada Online Games Firm Stars Group 2018 AwardsThe most famous online gaming group in Canada, The Stars Group (formerly Amaya), showed off its superiority last week in London. The ICE Totally Gaming conference attracts anyone and everyone with a vested interest in the land-based and online gambling industry. It also sets the scene for a trio of major gambling industry awards.

The ExCel London played host to ICE and all three awards galas, including:

Canada Online Games Firm Takes 5

The Stars Group outshines the competition in 2018, collecting a total of 5 awards, plus 3 spots on the GIA’s Hot 50. The parent company of PokerStars, it’s little surprise that the company continues to collect trophies. But this year’s categories weren’t all typical takings for the Canadian gaming firm.

PokerStars earned the GGA Poker Operator of the Year Award, swiping the honor back from 2017 winner, PartyPoker. It was a celebratory moment for the company, but nothing out of the ordinary.

The company also took home the IGA award for 2018 Gaming Operator of the Year – Americas. That honor was bestowed upon Stars Group for its PokerStars NJ (New Jersey) platform. Again, a great honor, but no big surprise.

Over at the GIAs, The Stars Group scooped three awards, tying Scientific Games and Playtech for the most. This is where the company shined so brightly, earning the following titles:

  • 2018 Poker Operator of the Year – PokerStars
  • 2018 Casino Operator of the Year – PokerStars Casino
  • 2018 Operator Innovation of the Year – Stars Rewards

PokerStars Casino Soars to Stardom

For more than a decade, PokerStars has been the top online poker room in the industry, by leaps and bounds. When the operator entered the online casino vertical a few years back, it was a slow start. Now, PokerStars Casino isn’t just a viable operation, but a proven, award-worthy entity.

The Stars Group has taken great strides to increase the viability of its casino offering. The company now employs a throng of the industry’s most respected software brands, including Microgaming, NetEnt, NextGen, PlayTech, and many others, with Evolution Gaming‘s elite Live Casino in the mix.

Stars Rewards Recognized for Best Innovation

The icing on the cake this year is Stars Group’s recognition for best Operator Innovation. This category is among the most diverse, as any new concept is worthy of notice. This year, the GIA judges felt the company’s new Stars Rewards customer loyalty program was the most notable innovation of all.

“I am proud to see the industry recognition of our company and particularly for our Stars Rewards customer loyalty program which we just launched last July,” said Stars Group CEO Rafi Ashkenazi.

Stars Rewards “has quickly become popular with our customers as one of the most innovative loyalty programs in online gaming.”

Trio of Stars Group Execs make GIA Hot 50

The Gaming Intelligence Awards go one step further than most ceremonies, honoring the managerial staff members who work so hard to for each gaming company. This year, the Canada online games development firm saw three of their esteemed colleagues make the list.

  • Robin Chhabra – Chief Corporate Development Officer, The Stars Group
  • Jerry Bowskill – Chief Technology Officer, The Stars Group
  • David Carrion – Director of Poker Marketing, PokerStars

Ashkenazi was “delighted to see members of our senior management team on this year’s Hot 50”. The CEO lauded the team’s honors, “as it shows that people are watching for the potential innovation and inspiration that we can bring not only to our customers but to the industry as a whole.”

Top 3 mobile casino games developments of the last decade.

Mobile Casino Games #1 in 2018Last year, the inevitable finally occurred. For the first time in history, mobile gaming superseded the traditional avenue of gaming on a desktop or laptop computer. The mobile revolution is clearly upon us. Today, we’ll take a look at the top three driving factors behind the prevalence of gambling at mobile casinos.

Top 3 Developments in Mobile Casino Games

In the last decade, so much has changed about the way we access and play internet casino games. It’s not just the fact that so many of us now choose to play on a smartphone or tablet, but the resounding reasons behind that transition.

Conversion to HTML5 Supports Mobile Gambling

HTML5 online and mobile casino gamesYou may be surprised to know that mobile casino slots and table games have actually been around for many, many years. Microgaming pioneered the first mobile casino technology all the way back in 2003. Those were the prehistoric days of mobile technology, when all the cool people had a flip phone. Remember those? Yeah, I’ve tried to forget them, too!

It took another staggering ten years for mobile casino gaming to develop into something people actually want to utilize. Touch-screen technology came about in 2007, but it wasn’t until gaming software developers began using the latest and greatest HTML5 mark-up language that the concept really took off.

By programming games in HTML5 format, there was no longer any need to develop each game multiple times. For years, that was the biggest hindrance in mobile gaming technology. Every title had to be reproduced; one for desktop operating systems, one for Android devices, one for iOS, etc.

HTML5 is compatible with them all! This form of optimization made mobile gambling a feasible avenue of pursuit for all online casino operators and software companies. Without this single development in technology, smartphone and tablet casinos would not be what they are today.

Live Online Casino Gambling

Live Mobile Casino GamblingThis is one of my favorites. Being a huge fan of blackjack, the introduction of live dealer casinos was mind-blowing to me. Professional croupiers in a live casino studio, dealing cards and spinning roulette wheels for real players at home? Yes, please!

Unfortunately, like mobile gambling, it took over a decade to really develop. The first live casino studio was opened in 2003 by Playtech, but hardly anyone used it. Internet connection speeds and video quality weren’t ready to pick up what internet casinos were putting down.

In the last few years, however, technology has finally caught up with live gaming capabilities. The video streams are exquisite. The audio is seamless. Now, the game play truly mimics what land-based casinos have always offered – an interactive, communal experience with other players.

Virtual Reality Mobile Gambling

VR Roulette by MicrogamingThis particular avenue of gaming is still in development. It has been for three years, since Microgaming debuted its revolutionary VR Roulette tables at the 2015 ICE Totally Gaming expo in London. However, that demonstration has yet to move out of the demo phase and into the tangible realm of realmoney online gaming.

I believe virtual reality is the future of internet gambling. But like mobile casino games and live dealer tables, it’s going to take a lot more time to develop into something the iGaming community can really appreciate. Until then, a whole new era of interactive gambling awaits just over the horizon.

How live dealer gambling got faster, glitzier and more progressive in 2017.

Each and every year, new and innovative concepts make their way into the Live Casino sector of online gaming. The companies who develop the software and manage the studios for these real-life, internet-based gambling platforms are always looking to bring something new to the table.

A new game here, a renovation there, a more lucrative prize at the end of the virtual rainbow. Whatever it may be, these innovations often kindle the admiration of the gambling masses. When you look back at an entire year’s worth of advancements, it’s awe-inspiring indeed.

Live Dealer Gambling 2017 to 2018

The new year is upon us. In two days, we’ll be sipping champagne and smooching our significant others as we ring in 2018. For now, let’s glimpse back in time at live dealer games, and what their prodigal founders brought to the table in 2017.

Progress of Live Dealer Gambling in 2017

I’m always astounded by the extent of upgrades and ingenuity that take place over a year’s time, especially in this industry. 2016 was a stellar year for live casino games, but 2017 trumps it by leaps and bounds. As usual, there was an expansion of game variety. More impressive, however, over the last twelve months, live casinos got faster, glitzier and much more progressive.

Speeding Up Live Dealer Games

Evolution Gaming was responsible for much of the innovation in the live casino sector. Things moved rapidly in 2017 – pun intended! In February, Evolution led the charge with the introduction of Speed Baccarat.

These new tables gave players the option to participate in the fastest baccarat hands known to live gaming. On average, each hand lasts around 10 seconds, with a max 20 second wait period for bet placement. The tables were well received, and by June, Evolution had opened a second Speed Baccarat table at its Latvian casino studio.

Baccarat isn’t the only game they saw worthy of expedition. In March 2017, the company’s Speed Roulette tables began attracting the masses. With a new spin every 25 seconds, these tables rival the equivalent offering available at PlayTech since 2014.

Bigger, Better, More Opulent

New Live Dealer Games from PlayTechSpeaking of PlayTech, that company made brilliant headlines this year by opening the world’s largest live casino studio. Located in Riga’s Old Town (Latvia), the studio began opening in stages as construction progressed.

Each new set of tables were more luxuriant than the last. The boring tables of their previous studio were transitioned to the new location, featuring opulent golds, creamy whites, decadent chocolaty browns, and elegant staircases Tevye the Dairyman (Fiddler on the Roof) would give his left arm for.

First came the brand’s Grand / Royale tables. Next, exclusive and private tables made the transition, followed by common tables later in the year.

Progressive Live Dealer Games

One of the best ‘progressions‘ of all came by way of progressive live gambling games. As the year began, hardly before the New Year’s confetti hit the ground, Evolution hailed the arrival of the first live Progressive Caribbean Stud Poker tables.

Midway through 2017, Evolution made waves again. This time, the company introduced its revolutionary Jumbo 7 Jackpot on Live Casino Holdem. It’s not the easiest thing to win. In fact, it’s virtually inconceivable.

Players will need to place the Jumbo 7 side bet to even qualify. Then, someone who places that bet will need a 7-card straight flush, using both of their hole cards and all five community cards. If that occurs, all who placed the side bet will share in the massive jackpot.

There are exactly 133,784,560 possible 7-card combinations, but only 32 of them will award that jumbo jackpot. That puts the odds right around 0.00000024, or 1 in 4,180,768. Good luck!

Evolution Gaming’s new live casino game, Dream Catcher Wheel, wins Digital Product of the Year at 2017 G2E Awards.

Evolution Gaming Live Casino GameWhen you think of online casino award ceremonies, Evolution Gaming is one of the first brands to come to mind. The company has won so many awards since launching in 2006, I can only imagine how many times they’ve had to expand their mantle.

The Global Gaming Awards are held twice annually; recognizing both the B2C (business-to-customer) and B2B (business-to-business) aspects of the industry. Back in February, at the 2017 G2E B2C awards, Evolution won the Live Casino Supplier of the Year. No surprise there – they’ve won that award every single year since the inaugural G2E ceremony in 2010.

Earlier this month, the annual Global Gaming Expo was held at the Sands Expo Center in Las Vegas. As always, the G2E B2B Awards took place during the event. And as always, Evolution Gaming walked away with a new trophy under its belt.

Dream Catcher Wheel Digital Game Of The Year

Dream Catcher Wheel

Unlike many of its competitors, Evolution specializes exclusively in the live casino games sector. They always have, and probably always will. That fact alone has given them an edge in developing a live casino product that is superior in almost every way imaginable. It also affords them time to work on innovative ideas, like the Dream Catch Wheel that was unveiled back in February.

Dream Catcher is unlike any other live casino games ever produced. All others focus on the provision of standard casino table games, in a live, digital streaming format. Dream Catcher Live is completely different. It is set up more like a 24/7 game show, with a real live host, an oversized money wheel, and the opportunity for players to win enormous amounts of cash playing on their desktop, smartphone or tablet.

The judges at G2E were well aware of this. They had a bank of player-popularity data to back up their decision when they chose to hand Evolution the 2017 Digital Game of the Year Award.

Todd Haushalter, Chief Product Officer for Evolution, gave a proud acceptance speech before addressing the media.

“Creating a 24/7 live game show is something completely new, and we believe fresh concepts like this are a must if we want to expand Live Casino to a wider audience,” he said.

As for why he believes the Dream Catcher Live game has been such a fabulous success with their live casino audience members, he had this to say. “Attention spans are growing shorter, and the desire to be entertained is greater so we wanted to do something that would be relevant to a YouTube watching audience because in many ways that is our competition for player’s time.”

Live Casino Game for Slots/Bingo Fans

Haushalter went on to address the target audience when they were developing the game. Traditionally, live casino games appeal to players of table games – blackjack, roulette, baccarat, etc. Evolution’s concept was to tap into the larger crowd of players who prefer fast-paced games of chance, like slot machines and bingo.

“We knew there were many slot, bingo, and other players who we hoped to reach with Dream Catcher, and that’s what we have achieved,” extolled Haushalter. “Dream Catcher has proved incredibly popular with players. The player counts are truly record-setting for a new product.”
